Camera, QR Code Scanning and Photo Capture
Our application uses the device camera (android.permission.CAMERA) to support employee attendance tracking through QR code scanning and photo verification.
How the camera is used
The camera is used only in the following situations:
- When an employee performs Check-In, the camera opens to scan a QR code and capture a selfie photo.
- When an employee performs Check-Out, the same process is repeated (QR code scan + selfie photo).
These actions are initiated only by the user and require explicit user interaction.
Purpose of data collection
The collected data is used strictly for:
- Recording employee check-in and check-out times
- Verifying that the person checking in/out is the actual employee
- Allowing HR personnel to review attendance records and verify identity when necessary
Data storage and retention
- Selfie photos are securely stored on our server.
- Photos are retained for a maximum of 7 days.
- After 7 days, all photos are automatically and permanently deleted.
- Attendance timestamps (check-in/check-out times) may be retained for reporting and HR purposes.
Data sharing
- Photos and attendance data are not shared with third parties.
- Access to this data is restricted to authorized HR personnel only.
Background access
The camera is never accessed in the background. Camera access occurs only when the user actively uses the check-in or check-out feature.
Location (GPS) Usage Policy
Location Data Usage
Our application may request access to the device's location services (GPS) to verify the physical presence of an employee during check-in and check-out actions.
How location data is used
Location data is accessed only at the moment when the user:
- Performs Check-In
- Performs Check-Out
The purpose of accessing location data is to:
- Verify that the employee is within an allowed radius of the workplace
- Prevent fraudulent check-ins or check-outs from unauthorized locations
Scope of location access
- Location data is not accessed in the background
- Location tracking is not continuous
- Location access occurs only with explicit user action
Data storage
- GPS coordinates are used only for real-time verification
- Location data is not permanently stored
- Location data is not shared with third parties
User control
- Users can enable or disable location services through their device settings
- Location permission is requested only when required for attendance verification
